Job Description
Are you a hands-on leader and seasoned diesel mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in doing the job right the first time, every time?
Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman to take charge of our diesel shop operations in Glen Allen, VA. In this role, you'll lead a team of skilled mobile technicians, manage daily workflow, and ensure that repairs on service trucks and heavy equipment are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
From approving job cards to troubleshooting, performing quality checks, and boosting team productivity, you'll be right in the middle of the action, leading by example and keeping the shop running smoothly.

As our Shop Foreman, you will:
Review and approve job cards and service write-ups to ensure profitability before invoicing.
Deliver outstanding service experiences, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
Manage customer communications, schedule repairs, provide timely updates, and address any concerns.
Step in as the branch lead in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Operate vehicles as required, holding a Class B CDL.
Provide hands-on support to technicians, offering guidance and coaching to maximize shop efficiency and performance.
Perform and assist with both scheduled and unscheduled repairs when needed.
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure the proper use of PPE.
Maintain and repair shop tools and equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot and assist technicians to improve workflow and minimize comebacks.
Conduct quality control inspections to ensure repairs are done right the first time, minimizing unnecessary rework.
Assign tasks to technicians upon job completion to optimize shop productivity.
What are the qualifications that we're looking for?
4+ years' experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses
4+ years' of automotive electrical experience
4+ years' of diesel engine repair is preferred
Must have own tools
Must have a valid driver's license
Class A or B CDL is preferred
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Must have exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and negotiating skills
MIG and stick welding experience is preferred
Possess working mechanical knowledge, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
Physical Requirements:
Comfortable working in the elements daily.
Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach.
Must be able to lift and move more than 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance.
Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening.
