Role Description:
The Safety Manager's mission is to prevent workplace accidents and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees. Responsible for making sure that employees follow health and safety laws and creating policies for a safer work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for assessment and evaluation across all construction projects
Reviewing and assessing the health & safety implications of changes as they occur during construction project
Developing and implementing reporting and communications structures on health and safety management performance for each project to enable accurate assessment and actively engaging with all aspects of day-to-day health and safety management
Attendance, and participation in meetings with management and personnel as Attending planning and coordination reviews, for both day-to-day and longer-term safety planning for work activities
Assisting in the evaluation of effectiveness of Health & Safety planning at site level, through the assessment of communications with all parties; including contractors, workers, and supervisors
Carrying out independent Health & Safety audits on all aspects of construction management including Monitoring compliance between health and safety planning and actual works on site
Assess compliance with agreed KPIs across all project stages
Coordinate work activities on the sites
Identify, assess, and evaluate high-risk activities
Conduct training and education
Assist and review safe plans of action, lifting plans, etc. competency of contractors and operatives
Perform additional duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/ Relevant Experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field
In-depth knowledge of EPA standards (OSHA plus)
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to lead
Great attention to detail
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
Organized and detail-oriented
