SES Energy Services LLC (ESL) is growing! We are seeking talented
Fuels Superintendent/Site Safety and Health Officer
to join our dynamic ESL team, a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH). The Fuels Superintendent/Safety Officer will provide general oversight of the project along with overall safety compliance. The majority of the project will be for the USACE or NAVFAC. As the Safety Officer the employee will need to meet the requirement of the EM385-1-1 by having a 5 years of continuous experience in similar fuels/construction type work and a minimum of OSHA 30 hour. While their primary responsibilities will be Superintendent and Safety, you will need to understand and support in quality control efforts. This position will be traveling to various military installations across the US.
Salary Range: $105,000-$120,000/annual
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, site safety orientation, activity-specific training and enforcement.
Perform safety meetings.
Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including three phase inspection meetings.
Develop and review preconstruction safety submittals.
Review safety submittals for compliance.
Create, implement and enforce the site-specific Accident Prevention Plans (APP) or site safety plan.
Review, develop, and enforce subcontractor activity specific Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
Monitor and manage sub-contractor safety and health compliance.
Verify safety qualifications.
Conduct continuous safety and health inspections, maintain a written log including date of inspection, area/operation inspected, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections.
Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports.
Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system monitoring outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily quality control report and document/submit accordingly.
Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and daily production reports for prime and sub-contractors.
Maintain safety reference material on the job site.
Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets.
Probable off-hours work.
On-site supervision & management of fuel system repair projects to maintain schedule, safety and quality. Working alongside SES Quality Control Manager.
Assist the Project Manager in the development of a 3-week look ahead field schedule and the approved Project Schedule, and to work with the Project Manager to keep the schedules properly updated with a continual focus on critical path activity completion.
Daily on-site construction management of both self-performance field staff and site subcontractors to complete construction activities on schedule, on budget and in accordance with approved plans, specifications and applicable construction industry standards.
To examine the contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager
Assist the Project Manager in preparing and executing Request for Information (RFIs) requests when site situations arise to remedy issues quickly and cost effectively and avoid schedule delays.
Conduct weekly coordination/progress meetings with site subcontractors and communicate results to the Project Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Safety manager experience on similar projects including mechanical and fueling systems preferred.
Federal construction experience with AFCEC, NAVFAC, USACE, or Coast Guard is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive construction industry experience in supervising/managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
Ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required by the task order (background check and fingerprints).
OSHA 30 hour
Proficient with EM385 1-1
Experience with Procore and RMS project management systems. Kahua management system experience preferred.
Proficient with Word, Excel, and PDF
Communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to receive and give constructive feedback

If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Environment
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
