About the role

As a CBRE Superintendent, you will be responsible for the oversight of daily operations at a designated construction site.

The Superintendent position will work in close collaboration with project management and to coordinate technician work force planning, resource dissemination and coordination, general oversight of field operations while providing technical direction to technicians, maintenance of safety standards, efficiency, schedule, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and having a solid understanding of the union contract.

What you'll do:

Participate in determining sequence and activity duration on schedules for proposed projects.

Facilitate cooperation with Ford Land General and Prime Contractors.

Work directly with project managers, architects, engineers, electricians, and other specialists to ensure timely completion of project

Manage project material storage and dock coordination

Coordinate with Construction Manager's contractors

Communicate work order changes to Project Manager

Review the plans and specifications for constructability and construction schedules and advise the project team of issues or deficiencies

Understand project specifications, scope of work and drawing packages

Manage all test results and inclusion in the project folders.

Understand and communicate to all field personnel the goals regarding construction

Review construction drawings and approved plans for accuracy

Write and organize daily logs and other vital documentation for management and client review

Ensure job safety requirements are understood and implemented by all project personnel and trade contractors, working with the safety support personnel as a resource

Promoted consistency and standardization of rules across the site

Participated in Pre - Program / Project meeting(s) with FMC and Contractor Representatives to coordinate and address anticipated Health & Safety issues including, at minimum, programs listed in Specification 01100 and the Pre-Program / Project Startup Checklist. This is required for new Contractors or new management personnel who need to know information that is not given in general orientation

Supervised and confirm the provision of orientation to all new workers and visitors according to their role or purpose for being on site.

Participated in recurring contractor safety meetings.

Participated in the Program/Project Verification process with or on behalf of the PD Safety or Project Manager to supervise contractor compliance with contract specifications.

Maintained current PD/ Ford Land emergency call tree phone contacts.

Supervised contractor incident response, notification, and reporting.

Acted as a liaison to assist in coordination of safety issue resolution.

Provided feedback to PD/ Ford Land Safety and Project Coordinator/ Manager regarding contractor safety performance as part of a Post Project Evaluation.

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to embrace a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of solid experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • OHSA 30 certification
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and balance problems.
  • Must meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.
  • Must meet all requirements to be properly badged and able to meet all client requirements to access the jobsite.
  • Familiar with construction management software as needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • AutoCAD, a plus for use with scheduling, spreadsheets, and cost control
  • Proficient in understanding building plans and specifications
