Maintenance Construction Coordinator

Primary Duties / Responsibilities of Position:
The Maintenance/Construction Coordinator position is responsible for efficient utilization of resources for repairs at National Guard facilities for an assigned geographical area. This position will analyze new maintenance work order requests and determine the most appropriate method for execution, either with internal resources (i.e., elements within the CFMO maintenance shop) or external resources (commercial contracting capabilities).
Description of Work Unit and/or Division:
The Construction & Facilities Management Office (CFMO) is responsible for all engineering issues that affect National Guard facilities statewide, to include programming, design and construction of new facilities. Existing facilities are maintained, modified or expanded, and utilities consumption is monitored. Environmental compliance is ensured by means of conscientious monitoring of training activities and other potentially damaging activities including construction. The work within the CFMO is highly dynamic in nature, requiring employees to learn and embrace new technologies, procedures, policies and criteria.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:
Experience analyzing future workflow requirements and assigns work orders to the CFMO Shop or local contractors based on the requirement's time sensitivity and other relevant factor
General knowledge of the methods, practices, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and machinery. Experience of inspection procedures and building codes
Experience estimating costs, forecast material and manpower needs
Experience writing outline specifications and/or contract documents when requested and perform courtesy design reviews for special projects.
-Per 5 CFR 731, upon appointment, applicant must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel Management. Failure to obtain a favorable determination may result in termination of employment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND two years of progressive experience in the construction or maintenance field;

Military Experience
