About the role

The Lead Senior Project Manager manages a team responsible for providing advanced project management services to achieve tour financial services client's strategic business objectives. The project management team leads construction projects for our client's administrative offices including fit/build outs, renovations and refurbishments, restacks, and decommissioning.

This job is part of the Project Management function responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion. Role is based in Des Moines, IA and requires approximately 25% travel to project sites throughout the Midwest and Upper Midwest.

What you'll do

Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentorship. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

Oversee all phases of project management including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution.

Manage administrative office construction projects ranging from 20K sq. ft. to 100K+ sq. ft. and $500K to $5M+ in scope

Ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout are accurate, timely, and compliant.

Monitor billing, accounts receivable collection, expense monitoring and control, staffing, and full P&L to EBITDA.

Work cross-functionally with other business lines to achieve the company's strategic business objectives.

Identify complex project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.

Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own field, and how own field integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.

Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job subject area.

What you'll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and CCM designations preferred.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Smartsheet, MS Project, PM Web, or other project management software. Experience with SAP, Adobe, and Tririga is beneficial
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
