A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEAD CARPENTER

In this position, you are the cornerstone of our carpentry jobs. You lead, instruct, and work alongside a small crew. As needed, you help complete the job. You inspect the work to ensure it meets our quality requirements and customer specifications. An excellent leader, you train crew members in the safe and proper use of various tools and equipment. You ensure that each job site is safe and secure.

Highly organized, you schedule and record the outcome of meetings with customers, subcontractors, trade partners, material vendors, and city inspectors. Attentive to detail, you maintain manual and computerized records and reports. Additionally, you maximize our resources by managing our materials, workflow, and budget. As necessary, you oversee the efficient ordering, purchasing, delivery, pickup, and return of construction materials. You love leading our team and take pride in the part you play in the success of our jobs!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEAD CARPENTER
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge about various construction methods and related trades, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
  • Basic knowledge about applicable building codes
  • Quality control experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Possession of a cell phone or the ability to acquire one
