Job Description
Reporting to the Skilled Crafts Trades Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance Department, the Lead Carpenter performs journey-level work related to the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of building structures, flooring, furniture, etc. Oversees critical day-to-day operations in supervisor's absence and acts as a subject matter expert who provides leadership to team members. The Lead Carpenter is responsible for operating and training others on: equipment, methods, and materials used to perform various carpentry projects throughout the University of California, Riverside campus. This position may work independently or as part of a team and responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate concerns and correct safety issues. Maintains a positive attitude for the team and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students. The full salary range for the Lead Carpenter is $44.91 - $50.56 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
