Position Overview
As the Construction Engineer Intern, you will be responsible of supporting the day-to-day administrative functions within your department.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs assignments to carry out construction estimating tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
Assists Estimators, Project Coordinators and Office Staff in all areas of Construction administrative related duties
Assists in documentation related to daily activities and all construction related documents and not limited to bid notifications, plans & specs, customer follow-ups and project handoffs
Works under supervision of the Branch Manager
Creates and maintains centralized files for project records (including digital)
Attends and takes minutes for the development team as requested
Helps in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports
Contacts and coordinates with Suppliers and Subcontractors
Assist in project handoffs to operations
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Display a high level of organization and prioritization for tasks at hand
Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
Education and/or Experience
Pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering program, and or has bachelor's degree in related field
Intern experience/coursework in construction projects high volume environment
Proficient with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Microsoft Project. Knowledge of estimating software a plus.
