We are seeking a hard-working, customer-focused individual who is comfortable visiting multiple commercial construction sites daily, conducting inspections and site visits, and working directly with our commercial team, leadership, and contractors. You will resolve all concerns related to fiber construction. Each Coordinator manages their assigned construction projects from start to finish, interacting daily with the construction team.
In this role, you will survey locations, identify permitting requirements, prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Notice-to-Proceed (NTP) packages for contractors, troubleshoot on-site as necessary, perform safety and quality control checks, verify as-builts, provide outstanding customer service to commercial customers, and ensure all work meets established technical standards and company policies.
Additionally, our Coordinators ensure all as-built data and bore logs are provided to our design team for input into the Vetro system. The Coordinator provides weekly reporting to internal and external departments, requests purchase orders, and defines architecture, equipment needs, costs, and variables. Our Coordinators are crucial in ensuring construction projects are completed on time and on budget while guaranteeing all construction and installation concerns are resolved satisfactorily and safely.
Our ideal candidate has experience with utility mark-outs and/or installing underground and aerial telephone, cable TV, or fiber-optic drops to homes and businesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Take ownership of projects from start to finish while actively supporting efforts to simplify and provide the best customer experience with every interaction.
Monitor and be accountable for subcontractor quality, workmanship, productivity, customer service, and safety performance.
Field-verify that all construction activities meet design specifications and ensure the work meets or exceeds quality standards.
Submit reports on all construction activities - daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
Coordinate projects between customers/businesses and all internal and external departments.
Interact with Field Supervisors to verify field work status and correct discrepancies.
Order, manage, and deliver materials to contract construction companies.
Design route paths and building entries for service delivery.
Assign work to subcontractor leadership team and review final billing.
Modify design schematics to "as-built" documentation.
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Verify work-in-progress reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred.
5+ years of telecommunications construction experience, highly preferred.
Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E) preferred.
Experience with walk-out surveys, design, budgeting, and creating BOMs, including GPON.
Experience managing contractor relationships and coordinating multi-site construction projects.
Proven success in collaboration and providing excellent customer service, with demonstrated ability to manage customer escalations and achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to work professionally with all levels of management, employees, customers, and the public.
Ability to work in all outdoor environments.
Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments and make sound decisions using available information.
Ability to adapt quickly and shift strategies as circumstances require.
Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail with minimal direction.
Ability to travel for business requirements, including during nighttime and in adverse weather conditions.
Flexibility to work mandatory overtime to meet business needs. Must be able to work emergency schedules during natural disasters and network outages, including mandatory overtime after hours and weekends until outages are resolved.
Proficient in Excel and Word, with computer skills sufficient to learn new applications and systems.
Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
Must have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with good hand-eye coordination.
Must pass standard background check and drug screening.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly.
Must be able and willing to climb ladders up to 28 feet.
Must be available to respond to 24/7 operation needs during emergencies.
Must have a clear driving record with no more than two minor infractions over the past two years.
