Job Title: Construction Bookkeeper

Location: North San Antonio, Texas (On-site)

Pay Rate: $24 - $28 per hour

Addison Group is seeking a Construction Bookkeeper for a contract-to-hire role with our client in San Antonio, Texas. This position requires at least five years of bookkeeping experience in the construction industry and offers up to $28 per hour, based on experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing job costing, AP/AR processes, and financial reporting within a construction setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Perform job cost tracking and allocate expenses to specific projects.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with payroll processing, including reviewing timecards and handling direct deposits.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for financial transactions.
  • Manage non-PO payments, including utilities, rentals, subcontractor expenses, and vehicle costs.
  • Assist with financial reporting and month-end close processes.
  • Maintain compliance with construction industry regulations and tax requirements.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, lien waivers, and AIA billing is a plus.
